Scouting Reports
Pre-Game Attack Plans from Your Pitcher’s Real History
Scouting Reports in Pitch MetRx turn one pitcher’s logged games into an AI attack plan for an opposing team or a named batter. You get overview, handedness notes, pitch mix, and a concrete plan—plus the same pitch-type tables you already trust in post-game reports. Thin samples stay cautious. The AI does not invent tendencies.
What a scouting report includes
Open Reports → Scouting Report, choose Team or Batter, select a pitcher, then the opponent (and batter, if needed). You can also start from Opposing Rosters (Scout Team / Scout) or from a Custom Report that already filters by opponent or batter name.
Team attack plan
AI narrative with overview, handedness, pitch mix, and an actionable plan vs that opponent—scoped to the selected pitcher only.
Batter attack plan
How to attack a named hitter. Pick the opponent team first; jersey # distinguishes shared names in the batter list.
Key stats
BAA, SLG%, FPS%, K%, BB%, WHIFF%, plus top pitches. Team reports add LH/RH splits and a per-batter table with a TOTALS row.
Pitch breakdown by type
The same columns as mid-game, post-game, lifetime, and custom reports. Team reports include All / LH / RH tables.
Sample-size honesty
Badges: Adequate, Thin, or No history — roster only. Thin samples get a short, cautious note. Roster-only reports do not invent hot zones.
PDF & CSV export
Download from the results modal with the standard Pitch MetRx branded header. Same subscription or trial requirement as other report exports.
How to generate a report
- Go to Reports and tap the Scouting Report card (or Scout Team on a roster card).
- Choose Team or Batter, then select a pitcher. Opponent lists filter to that pitcher’s games only.
- Optionally pick a saved roster for teams this pitcher has faced (sample rosters show [Sample] when relevant).
- Select the opponent team. For Batter reports, the batter dropdown stays empty until a team is chosen.
- Generate Report, then download PDF or CSV to share with staff.
Scouting quality improves when games are scored with opposing rosters and named lineups so batter names are stored on pitches. Named batters recorded in games but missing from the saved roster are still included so the table stays complete.
Pre-game guidance, not a replacement for game reports
Scouting is how you walk into the matchup. Mid-game and post-game reports are how you measure what actually happened today. Use both: scout from history, then chart live and open Pitch Call Analysis when the count leverage changes.
Pitcher-scoped
Your #1’s history vs Eastside is not mixed with a reliever’s. Choose the pitcher who will throw.
Team or batter
Plan the whole order, then tap a batter name with logged pitches to open that hitter’s individual report.
Practice on samples
Billy Baseball vs Eastside Eagles and Sally Softball vs Valley Vipers include named-batter demo games so you can try scouting immediately.
Baseball & softball
Same scouting workflow for both sports. Attack plans follow your logged pitch types—rise, drop, fastball, change, or custom.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Pitch MetRx Scouting Report?
An AI-powered pre-game attack plan for an opposing team or named batter, based on one pitcher’s logged history and optional saved rosters. It includes a narrative, key stats, pitch-type breakdowns, and PDF/CSV export.
Does scouting invent tendencies when I have little data?
No. With little or no logged history the AI stays cautious and will not invent tendencies. Sample-size badges show Adequate, Thin, or No history — roster only.
Is a scouting report scoped to one pitcher?
Yes. Opponent teams and saved lineups are filtered to the selected pitcher’s logged games only—not combined across all pitchers on your account.
How do I get better scouting reports?
Score games with opposing rosters or named lineups so batter names are stored on pitches. You can also start from sample Eastside Eagles / Valley Vipers roster games to practice before your first real opponent.
Do I need a separate subscription for Scouting Reports?
No. Scouting Reports are included with every Pitch MetRx subscription and the 14-day free trial, same as other reports. Start a free trial and generate a sample report from the demo roster games.
